I think that this upward trend in e-books is slightly sad. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned but I don't think that electronic books can replace the nostalgic smell of library, new, or used books. Granted, I don't own an e-book so this may also account for my relative indifference towards them.

I think that this upward trend in e-books is slightly sad. Though electronic books are arguably more eco-friendly, they lack a certain substance. For excample, though an e-book can maintain a sustained glow that simulates the look of a piece of printed paper, they lack the smell of library, used, or new books.
